What is a department board


A department board is a ticketing tool or issue tracker that represents the progress of tasks, assignees, and other essential components of a department in symbols, colors, charts, etc. A board allows for transparency and ownership, as everyone that's involved can see at a glance who is working on what and how far they are in the process. Boards help ensure that the right task is worked on at the right time. Task assignees are empowered by seeing their task completion. Having a board also improves efficiency, as it ensures you avoid making mistakes that occurred in the past or during the current department development by re-defining tasks on the board next time. 

To see your department’s boards, go to the Departments module and click the Boards tab in a department’s page. You will be presented with different boards all related to your selected department. You can create a new board directly from this page.   

Note! Board templates can be configurated in the Organization Configuration by an administrator. 

You can search for a board in 2 different ways: 

  • Manually – Select the relevant board from the list.
  • By using filters – Use filters to help narrow down your search. 

From the department board's view, you can be taken to the Kanban view of a board.

If a default board is set up, the Kanban view of that board will be displayed. If you want to go to the main board view, click All Boards under the additional board menu.
