Account Security
The Account Security section allows administrators to define and enforce key security policies related to user authentication and password management. This includes setting rules for password complexity, expiration policies, and login attempt limits to ensure a secure environment across the platform.
With customizable options, you can define minimum requirements for password structure—such as length, character types, and expiration cycles—as well as determine how many failed login attempts are allowed before an account is locked. These settings help your organization meet internal security standards and compliance requirements while maintaining user account safety.
All changes made in this section directly impact how users access their accounts and help strengthen overall data protection within the system.
To configure Account Security, set the following:
- Min Length (required) – Enter the minimum number of characters required for passwords or use the counter.
- Max Length (required) – Enter the maximum number of characters allowed for passwords or use the counter.
- Min Count Of Uppercase Letters (required) – Enter the minimum number of uppercase characters required for passwords or use the counter.
- Min Count Of Lowercase Letters (required) – Enter the minimum number of lowercase characters required for passwords or use the counter.
- Min Count of Special Characters (required) – Enter the minimum number of special characters required for passwords or use the counter.
- Min Count of Numeric Characters (required) – Enter the minimum number of numeric characters required for passwords or use the counter.
- Expire Passwords After Number Of Days – Enter the number of days after which a password will expire or use the counter.
- Alert Users of Expiring Passwords Number of Days – Set the number of days before password expiration at which users will be alerted or use the counter.
- Lock After Number Of Invalid Login Attempts – Enter the number of invalid login attempts after which an account will be locked or use the counter.
- Expire Passwords – When this box is checked, passwords will expire according to security settings.
- Lock Accounts – When this box is checked, accounts will be locked according to security settings.
- Allow Users To Change Password – When this box is checked, users will be able to change passwords.
- Allow Same as Username – When this box is checked, passwords may be identical to the username.
When finished, click Save.
