User devices
How to view user devices
The User Devices section in Vault Synapse provides an overview of all devices a user has used to access the system. This feature improves security monitoring by allowing administrators to track login devices, identify unusual activity, and manage trusted or outdated devices.
To view a user’s devices, navigate to the Users module, select a user, and open the User Devices tab. A list of devices associated with the user account will be displayed, along with key details such as device type, device name, operating system, and last activity.
User device details
- Device Type – Identifies the category of the device, such as a browser, desktop, or mobile device.
- Device Name – Displays the name of the device or browser, for example Chrome, Safari, or another client.
- Operating System – Shows the operating system running on the device, such as Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android.
- Last Activity – Indicates when the device was last used to access the system, such as “2 years ago” or “1 hour ago.”
At the end of each row, the … action icon provides the option to forget a device. Forgetting a device removes it from the list and requires the user to reauthenticate on that device during their next login.
