What are external systems
The External Systems module in Vault Synapse provides an overview of all third-party applications and their data flows integrated into your company’s work processes. It consolidates information about external tools used across departments and projects into a single, centralized view.
This module helps you monitor and manage integrations effectively — whether it’s adding new systems, editing existing configurations, or tracking data synchronization. The dashboard includes a visual graph that highlights the proportion of usage for each external system and shows the current status of all flows, making it easy to identify which integrations are active, synchronizing, or broken. You can also customize the dashboard display to match your preferences and workflow needs.
To access the External Systems module, click the External Systems icon from the main sidebar menu. This will open the External Systems list view, where all integrated applications are displayed. For data to appear in this view, at least one external application and flow must be added.
Clicking on values in the External Systems view will navigate you to related tabs across other Vault Synapse modules for deeper insights.
Within the list view, you can adjust and save the width of columns directly in the grid for a more personalized layout.
The visible columns are configurable based on your system setup — follow the provided link to learn how to customize your view.
Each row in the grid provides key details about an external system, including:
- Name – The name of the external system.
- Status – A percentage bar indicating the system’s overall performance or connectivity.
- Success Rate – The percentage of successful data synchronizations.
- Flows – The total number of data flows linked to the external system.
- Last Change – The date and time of the most recent update (e.g., 4 years ago).
This module provides a comprehensive and customizable way to track, maintain, and analyze your organization’s external system integrations — all from one convenient dashboard.
Note! Vault Synapse is a highly customizable tool, meaning certain parts and functionalities of the application can be additionally built-in or customized based on your business needs and preferences.
