What is the department list
The Department List provides a comprehensive overview of all department data within Vault Synapse. Depending on your module configuration, you can quickly view key information such as department names, details, managers, personnel, projects, top project, overall project RAG status, boards, candidates, and state.
User permissions determine which data or files you can view, ensuring that confidential information remains secure.
You can filter grids to narrow down your search results.
Clicking on values in the Department List view will navigate you to the relevant tabs across Vault Synapse’s modules.
To access the Department List, open the Departments module from the main sidebar. The list will display all departments in a grid format. By default, no columns are pre-set—you can customize which information is displayed by clicking the Settings button in the top-right corner.
You can also adjust and save the column widths directly within the grid. Click the Save button to apply and store your layout changes.
Note: The columns available in the grid depend on your configuration. Click here to learn how to customize your view.
You can see the following information from the department view:
- Name – The name of the department
- Boards – The number of active boards
- Boards (Archived) – The number of archived boards
- Candidates – The number of candidates in the department
- Info – Additional department details
- Managers – The department managers
- Overall Projects RAG Status – A traffic-light indicator (red, amber, green) showing project delivery confidence
- Personnel – The employees in the department
- Projects – The total number of projects
- Short Name – The department code (e.g., HR, ACCT)
- State – The active status of the department
- Top Project – The department’s top project for the current month
Note! Vault Synapse is a highly customizable tool, meaning certain parts and functionalities of the application can be additionally built-in or customized based on your business needs and preferences.
