Overview of the Evaluations module


The Evaluations module is a tool that examines how well an employee is performing. This module is variable and allows for accurate up-to-date feedback by raters who worked with ratees on a particular project during a specific point in time. Create a monthly evaluation plan in Vault Synapse and assign raters to provide feedback on a ratees job execution and office presence. Once you’ve created your first evaluation plan, future plans are created with a few clicks. 

Simply copy the evaluation plan into the next month, or if required individually edit evaluation plans. The plan and the rating completion progress is monitored by the system and is shown in a percentage with other graphic information on the evaluations main screen. 

To view monthly evaluation plans, go to the Evaluations module and click on the month you want to see or plan the evaluation for. 

On the Evaluations dashboard, you can view evaluation plans either by Job Execution or by Office Presence. You will find the respective tabs in the navigation header of the Evaluations module window. The window will open the Job Execution view by default.

  • Job Execution – Measures work ethic, productivity, skill, helpfulness, professionalism, teamwork, overall contribution, etc.
  • Office Presence – Measures general behavior in the office, employee's work attendance, adherence to rules, professional attitude, employee's respect for colleagues, whether their behavior is counterproductive, etc.

The dashboard will open in the current month. To view past evaluations, use the month picker tool and filters to narrow down your search. 

Evaluation plans can be viewed by multiple categories. Click the filter icon in the top left corner of the screen to view the filter options. You can filter evaluations plans by:  

  • Departments – Check the boxes next to one or more departments from the dropdown list to view evaluation plans for personnel assigned to department in a given month.
  • Offices – Check the boxes next to one or more offices from the dropdown list to view evaluation plans for personnel assigned to specific offices in a given month.
  • Positions – Check the boxes next to one or more positions from the dropdown list to view evaluation plans for personnel holding specific positions.
  • Preferences – Choose rated, unrated or both.
  • Raters – Check the boxes next to one or more raters from the dropdown list to view evaluation plans for specific raters.
  • Teams – Check the boxes next to one or more teams from the dropdown list to view evaluation plans for personnel in specific teams.

The length of the amber bars represents Plan Completion and Rating Completion Progress. 

The grid contains the following information: Personnel Rated (Ratees), Department, Top Project for the previous, current and future month, and Raters. Under the Raters column, you can find avatars and square icons. Hover the mouse over the avatars to view the rater's name. The square represents the rating value (Excellent, Very Good, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, or Rating has not been provided). Squares with full borders indicate that rating is visible to the ratee. Ratings that are not visible to the ratee are displayed with dashed borders.

Hover over the square icon to view the rating. The rating comments can also be viewed by clicking the edit button at the end of selected personnel.
