What is department personnel

In Vault Synapse, the Personnel tab within the Departments module provides an overview of all employees assigned to a department. It allows you to view essential details and make limited edits to stored information. For more advanced management—such as updating personal details, reviewing files, or adding new employees—you will need to switch to the dedicated Personnel module.

To access a department’s personnel, open the Departments module and click the Personnel tab inside the department you want to view. A new window will open, displaying a column-based list of personnel and related information. Depending on your view settings, you can see details such as full name, gender and age, reporting line, employment details, HD/DL, attendance, time records, ratings, and notes. 

You can search for personnel in 3 different ways: 

  • Manually – Select the relevant personnel from the list.
  • By using keywords – Enter the name of the personnel or any keywords that the personnel name contains to find your entry. 
  • By using filters – Use filters to help narrow down your search. 

Note! Personnel created inside any of the modules can be later found in the Personnel module. 


How to edit personnel in the Departments module 

To edit personnel details, click the … (More) icon at the end of the selected employee’s row. This will open a modal window where you can update the Reports To field and add Notes. Once finished, click Save to apply your changes.
